Show at Kabadkhana, Old Bhopal

Fourth show of Paltan on the issue of Child Labour of the series was organized at Kabadkhana, old Bhopal. It is one of the most congested part of Bhopal city. The first & foremost difficulty faced was to select an apt place where there is enough space to do our performance. Most of the mob was mobilized easily as they were eager to know what's happening. As most of the people residing there was mostly belonging to same marginalized community, they were easily attracted towards the skit. Most of them were of the view that Child Labour should be banned but want to know an alternate how this problem could be tackled. Thus we were successful in

Naaraz Sawera

A documentary on daily life routines of Rag Picking children Naaraz Sawera was shot by NIWCYD-Bachpan. In this we have tried to capture all those small moments in life of these children, right from early sunrise to sunset that include their daily routine, wandering in search of waste materials, collecting all the useful materials from the garbage & selling it. A part of the money earned from it is given at home & rest is utilized for consuming alcoholic & drug items like gutka, whitener & other alcoholic items. In order to have a study on the life of such children we have prepared the movie to advocate the issues faced by these children & what could be done to improve their standard of living. This effort is all about to make the people realize that there are children who facing hard times in life, whose growth is stagnant & future is dark. Lets join hands to fight for their rights & stop child labour.

Paltan Show at Board Office Chauraha

Second day's show of Paltan was presented at Board Office Square from 6.30 p.m. onwards. The program was widely covered by print & electronic media in which the children who were performing the skit were asked the objective behind organizing such an awareness campaign. It was a stepping stone where children are protesting directly the policies of Govt. that despite of articles of CLPRA that clearly prohibits children under the age 14 yrs. to be engaged in any kind of labour that directly or indirectly effects the physical, mental & holistic development of a child, open condemn of the act is being carried on & the defenders of the law are sitting blind without taking necessary measures to stop child labour.
The children of our Bal Panchayat have adopted advocacy campaign method to address such a social evil prevailing in the society & mobilize people to raise their voice against child labour, so that we can force Govt. to take necessary steps to stop child labour.
